Categories and Descriptions:
Classic (1980 and older)
Any motorcycle that was manufactured prior to the 1980 model year

American Stock
Any American made motorcycle. For example: Harley Davidson, Big Dog, Victory. No Choppers

European Stock
Any motorcycle manufactured by a company headquartered in Europe or the United Kingdom. For example: Ducati, BMW, Triumph, BSA or Royal Enfield.

Japanese Stock
Any motorcycle manufactured by a company headquartered in Japan. For example: Suzuki Yamaha or Honda.

Note on the 'Stock' Categories:
Stock implies 'as-is' from the manufacturer. The motorcycle can make use of accessories with production 'bolt-on' items available for purchase through dealers, catalogs or motorcycle shops.

Sidecar/Trike/Exotic
Any non brand-specific motorcycle with an attached sidecar or three wheels. Three wheel kits are not considered 'Custom'

Custom
Any motorcycle non brand-specific that has been customized beyond using more than a few 'bolt-on' parts. All or part of the motorcycle has been custom designed and built with an emphasis on on-off fabrication rather than mass-produced items. Example modifications include, but are not limited to:

* Non-stock engine. An entirely new motor or 'benched' motor (not standard for the motorcycle) that has been ported and polished to increase performance
* Custom fabricated fenders, seats, handle bars or custom fabricated exhaust
* Non-stock transmission. Open primary in a machine that was originally a 5 speed enclosed primary, or a jocky-shift on a machine that was originally a foot-shift.
* Custom frame or a frame that has been modified from stock to change the geometry of the frame. Such as a frame with a non-stock rake or stretch. Example: Chopper.

The more modifications included on the bike, the more likely that it is a 'Custom'. Bolt-on parts and a non-standard paint job do not necessarily mean that it fits in the 'Custom' category.
